Watoto Wana Njia means “Children have a hope”
It is estimated that one in four children under the age of 5 (a total of 165 million) suffers from chronic malnutrition on the planet, therefore it has growth delays and is 9 times more likely to die than children properly fed. In the small corner of Africa where we are located, the village of Nyololo, children in the age group 0-5 years make up 18% of the local population (according to the Tanzanians demographic and health survey 2010) and chronic malnutrition is still the main cause of mortality. Our Hospital in Nyololo has a percentage of 17% of children hospitalized for malnutrition, among them 19% do not survive the treatment because of the serious conditions in which it arrives at the hospital.
For a Tanzanian family, care for a malnourished child in a hospital costs 15,000 TSH, about 7 € , for a three-week stay.
With Watoto Wana Njia we would like to offer free assistance for children hospitalized with diagnoses of malnutrition and restart the food education activities in Nyololo and in the neighboring villages through the service of Mobile Clinics, stopped due to lack of funds.
If you choose to support us with a donation we can manage to provide children with free hospital assistance to treat malnutrition, allowing them to escape from diseases, and have a healthy growth and a regular development of psycho-motor skills.
