In Tunisia, the CO.P.E. began, in 1994, the collaboration with the local association AKAD (Association Kairouan pour l’Auto-Developpement) which has been realized in various summer work camps (1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 , 2005, 2006) during which, in the so-called gray areas of the Province of Kairouan and Haffouz, the wall of a school, a community house in the village of S’Dara, a health center in the village of M ‘sireb, a multipurpose room in the village of Jebel Essage, a water cistern in the village of J’bil and two dispensaries. Every year the work camps involved a group of about 20-30 people between the ages of 20 and 45 who have volunteered in the field by helping the local counterparty in the realization of the planned works. Before leaving, the aspiring campers follow a training course that prepares them for the experience of the labor camp.
